Omkariyoga leads traditional forms of Hatha and Raja yoga. Raja yoga, is known as the royal path of the mind and is dedicated to all the internal aspects of yoga. Patanjali's ashtanga or 'Eight Limbs' of Raja Yoga are a systematic, comprehensive approach to meditation, self awareness and ultimately, enlightenment. A typical class will include asana (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), hands-on adjustments, guided relaxation, chanting and snippets of yoga philosophy. I use my direct experience, the wonderful Sivananda teachings and a graceful intelligence to guide me in classes offering a deep, challenging yet playful practice to suit whoever I am teaching. I allow a certain amount of flow particularly in the standing postures. I may even bring in words and music to support the aims of the class. I aim to help participants connect to their own strength, flexibility and power and find inner peace both on and off the mat.
