
These classes are aimed at absolute beginners and for anyone who has done some yoga but is a little out of practice or would like a nice slow tune up. A perfect introduction or refresher. Each week we will focus on teaching basic yoga postures (asanas) with a real emphasis on moving the body in a slow and mindful way whilst connecting movement with the breath. Compassion takes precedence over getting it right, we want you to feel confident and comfortable whilst encouraging self acceptance and exploration, we wont take it too seriously, expect to have a giggle. This will be a slow and steady class adapted to suit all bodies. We will work on strengthening, stretching, balancing and grounding. You will learn a range of breathing exercises and techniques to help focus your mind and stimulate relaxation. You will leave feeling happy and lifted, both emotionally and physically :) Completely new to yoga? Don't be scared! Here are a few FAQ's... What should I wear? Wear comfortable clothing that you can move freely in, standard gym gear is fine, have a slightly fitted t shirt as it will end up around your head otherwise! Layers can be useful in case you get hot or cold.. A sports bra is also a good idea! Yoga classes are taken with bare feet. What else do I need? Please bring a mat, otherwise you can hire one of ours for £2.50. You may want some water or a sweat towel. Do I need to be fit, coordinated or flexible? No! Most of our classes are open level and can accommodate beginners, check out the class description before booking on or ask us. If you haven't exercised in a long time, or if you have any injuries or illnesses that may impact your ability to participate, check with your doctor before coming to class. Please also make sure you let the teacher know if you're unwell or injured before class via the chat box.
