Sarai has been teaching since 2002 and is a much loved teacher in London and worldwide, and is only one of 22 people in the UK qualified with Authorisation Level 2 by the Institute (KPJAYI) in Mysore, India.
Sarai has been a Yogi since the age of 12 in New Zealand, and took her first trip to Mysore in 2003 to study with Guruji (Pattabhi Jois) and R. Sharath Jois, returning annually until 2011. At home she practiced with Hamish Henry for nine years, and has continued her development under the guidance of Alaric Newcombe (Iyengar) since 2011.
She loves that a yoga practitioner will always be a student, no matter how advanced. Her practice provides her with a containing space for internal discovery and reflection, a bit of fun, and a sense of strength and contentment.
Sarai is a Senior Yoga Teacher with YAP and teaches Ashtanga, Restorative (Certified by Judith Lasater) and her own style of Yoga. You can find her at Triyoga Soho and Chelsea, The Shala, or Ashtanga Yoga Wimbledon where she runs Mysore classes, Teacher Mentoring Programmes and Teacher Trainings. Sarai has an MA in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and works as an honorary psychotherapist within the NHS. She lives in London with her husband and daughter.
