Hello, I'm Julia and I've been practising yoga for around thirty years and teaching for over ten years. Yoga helps me to feel calmer; has greatly improved my posture and body awareness and alleviates my long standing joint pain. I could not live without my yoga, it helps me so much.
My passion is sharing yoga and movement with people who might not be your typical "yoga bunnies." So this type of yoga although challenging (mentally and physically) is suitable for pretty much everyone who can get up and down from the floor. It's great for both people who are too stiff and people who are too bendy (yes you can be too bendy, believe me!).
There are various two types of classes available depending on what you'd like to work on.
Gentle Yoga and Somatics Classes are ideal if you'd like to work more slowly - for instance if you have an ache, pain or ailment, or if you are stressed and tired. Who isn't stressed and tired every now and again in London? You'll learn how to get your joints working harmoniously again to support you better in your life. The simple yoga breath and body awareness techniques work powerfully to relax and soothe your body and mind, leaving you more energy to live your life.
General Yoga is just that, we work with more traditional yoga postures with a view to functional movement that makes sense from a modern anatomical point of view. These classes are not suitable if you are working with chronic pain, illness or fatigue. However if you have mild aches and pains and are in relatively good health, these classes will be fine. You'll learn more about how yoga can support you to lead a life with more balance, steadiness and ease.
