Are you a yoga newbie? Perfect! Yoga Basics is a six-week long yoga course for those with absolutely no experience in yoga. Prepare to be challenged, and rewarded by feeling better and better after each class as you improve in strength, flexibility, endurance and coordination. You will learn the technique of most commonly used yoga poses (asanas), along with correct principles of alignment and breathing. At the end of the course, you will feel confident to walk into just about any yoga class and get on with it! We will also practise “mini-vinyasas”, learning how to link asanas together. You will learn a lot about your body, too – and get a list of asanas to help you remember what you have learned, and use at home if you wish. We will also have an introduction to meditation, relaxation and mindfulness.
