A lifelong teacher, a mother of four yogis, a lifelong learner, lover of all things that challenge me, an appreciater of the things that awaken.
My background is in design & sales management in the textile and interior design worlds of London and New York City. Along the way I spent a year travelling throughout Central America, India & Europe falling in love with the sights, the foods, the rich histories, the people, and the very different teachings & philosophies of yoga. (Oh and a British man along the way which is how I ended up moving to England and living on the south coast for 8 years!)
The now not-so-corporate me enjoys helping people to light the fire within, grow inner strength, harness the energy that's often buried and to become a fearless warrior. Through the busyness and stresses of life it is so easy to get 'stuck'...stuck in bad habits, stuck in worries that may never happen, and not see the light ahead. I spend my weeks helping people to look at these areas of 'stuck' energy in different ways and help them to unblock their true potential by building confidence and awareness through mindful movement, yoga and meditation.
I began teaching yoga in New York and furthered my teacher training with the rigorous Rinzai tradition under Zenways. I find it completely fascinating to combine these ancient traditions of Indian, Japanese and Chinese styles of yoga with energy work.
Yoga is a journey. Everyday is different.
Some days we feel strong and fearless...some days we feel that not so much!
This journey that we are on is beautiful and challenging at the best of times. We must take care of this vessel that carries us throughout this life.
Namaste. Or as we say in Zen Yoga ナマステ - 'I humbly bow to the light in you' which sounds like gaosho in English.
