This class suitable for anyone wanting a relaxing and gentle yet powerful practice. Performed mainly lying or sitting we move whilst considering HOW we move and what we FEEL as we move, sensing tension and trying to move with ease.
No stretching, no strengthening as such, we often repeat movements and gently release muscle tension. Using pandiculation techniques (it's actually what the body does each time you yawn) as well movement with awareness, the aim of this class is to reset muscles to a natural resting length, mobilise joints, gently strengthen the body.
Uses techniques from Hanna Somatic Education, Gentle Somatic Yoga and Feldenkrais.
Particularly suitable for anyone returning from injury, anyone wanting a gentle yet powerful practice, anyone with fatigue issues or maybe someone a little older who might not fancy a more traditional yoga class.
Lots of time to relax between each movement.
