Yoga In Your Life - 12 week course starting 14th September

at Yoga-Yoga - Heart Twickenham

This course is designed to deepen and improve your practice. The idea being that what you learn on the mat will be useful for you in daily life too! Breathe, relax and move gracefully, balancing ease and effort in class and in your life. Each class will explore either a physical theme or principle to assist you with deepening your practice.

Class is suitable for Ideally this course is for more experienced Yoga practitioners, trainee teachers, teachers, but anyone wanting to deepen their understanding of Yoga and explore new concepts is welcome. It is not however, suitable for complete beginners the classes will explore different ideas and practices each week- refer to below.

How does it work? The course fee is paid in advance prior to beginning the course. Partial attendance is not available and if you do not complete the course classes are not transferable nor are any fees paid transferable. This is a special one off course.

12 weeks, 12 different classes in brief

Week 1 The breath that moves The mechanics of breathing, synchronised breath and movement

Week 2 Compassion in action Respect for yourself and all beings is the precept for acting towards oneself and others with compassion. Start with compassion on your mat

Week 3 Alignment based movement We are unique and how the sequential line of force flows through each body is different. When you tune into your own flow, natural alignment is expressed

Week 4 Strength and Balance Bringing these concepts at all levels into your practice

Week 5 Organ support- moving from your core The organs and abdominal muscles provide support for the spine and strength and stamina in asana

Week 6 Truth, Karma and Energy Where the mind goes energy follows. What we give out we attract. Practice truthfully without force and prevent injury

Week 7 The eyes have it - exploring visual focus The concept of Drishti in practice

Week 8 Human starfish - integrating your limbs This may sound obvious! Practising with your ‘whole’ body

Week 9 Legs eleven- being grounded (on all levels) What does it mean to be ‘grounded’? How will the practice of yield in asana help in this respect.

Week 10 Spinal Integration Integrating the spine from head to tail and moving with your natural curves

Week 11 Sit Still Meditation in movement, in stillness and in every day

Week 12 Off the mat Yoga integrated in your daily life
