When we think about deep stretching, usually the first thing that pops up in our heads is gymnasts or acrobats going into a full side split or a bridge. But stretching is more than just developing the flexibility in the body to make yourself fold in abnormal ways.
We think of stretching as a predominately physical activity, however a large portion of tension is not physical, but mental instead. Throughout our stressful lives, we accumulate this stress and by not releasing it on a regular basis it manifests into physical tension.
In these stretch therapy classes, you will be provided with a deeper understanding behind the theory and application of deep stretching, with an emphasis on making your stretch sessions as therapeutic as possible. You will be focusing on training the body for improving and developing the rested squat, pancake, pike and bridge.
