Kundalini yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan is a very old practice. It uses 5 tools that together have enormous transformative qualities. Breath, posture, hand posture, eye focus and mantra. Usually they are combined together and this makes it almost impossible not to stay focused. Saying that, the mind is tricky but repetition can help to focus, and this is also a characteristic of kundalini yoga.
Each class will give you immediate results, balancing body, mind and soul, but also the nervous system and glandular system. Practising kundalini yoga is capable of improving health and well being and a wonderful tool for self discovery.
Each class usually starts by tuning in with mantra. Breath awareness, warm-ups and exercises help prepare body and mind for meditation. Relaxation allows the body to integrate all that has been shifted or worked on. Through activating the parasympathetic nervous system after exertion, the body learns to better cope with daily stresses and you will feel calmer and more grounded. We close the space by tuning out.
