The Ying Yang style of yoga is designed to create balance and equanimity in the body - the dynamic, fiery, energetic vinyasa practice (Yang) is balanced by carefully chosen soothing, rejuvenating postures (Yin) designed to release and soften the body (with the support of the many props available at Evolve - Bolsters, blankets, straps and blocks) . Yin is the feminine principle: passive, receptive, reflective, withdrawn, cool, introspective. Yin yoga is deeply relaxing and nourishing, developed to penetrate deep into connective tissue expanding flexibility and aiding healing while stimulating the nadis or meridians to loosen energetic blockages and increase energy flow. Yang is the masculine principle: light, active, outward and upward moving, hot, extrospective. The Yang element will be akin to a Vinyasa practice that develops muscular strength, stamina, and flexibility.
