I was just 12 when my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was given six months to live, but she wasn’t about to give up that easily.
She knew that what we eat and drink can significantly ease, reduce and even cure numerous conditions.
So she started juicing, growing organic vegetables, making powerhouse drinks like kefir – essentially, she started using food as her medicine. And it worked. My mum lived for another 16 rich and fulfilling years. She saw her daughter married and three grandchildren born. She travelled. She even continued to teach ballet, that’s how fit and healthy she was.
I saw the power of nutritional medicine for myself, and eventually started doing my own research to help tackle my own health problems, which included painful IBS and fatigue. Everything that I learned confirmed what my mum had already shown me – that the right diet can change lives. And that’s what I’m passionate about doing.
