Are you new to yoga? Or maybe you already started but would like refresh your practice? If yes, this class is for you. In this course we will learn breath, beginner poses (asanas) and how to prop, meditation and relaxation.
Yoga has an amazing ability to strengthen our bodies, elevate our mood, expand body awareness and bring a sense of vitality to both body and mind. The combination of breath, movement and longer holds helps to activate our circulatory system and revive the nervous system, bringing new energy (Chi or Prana) into the body.
Increased blood flow through the body can help combat fatigue and also help to counter some of the effects of modern-day life - particularly long periods of sitting. Stress is also one of the leading factors that robs us of energy and leaves us feeling depleted. Yoga helps to lower stress levels and as a result increases energy level. Deep rhythmic breathing activates our parasympathetic nervous system, which governs our body’s rest-and-digest mode, that allows the brain to turn its energy inward to allow healing processes to take place, leaving you relaxed, peaceful and calm.
What to wear? Comfortable clothing that will allow you to move, have layers to take off.
Important note - You should be able to get up and down from the floor with relative ease.
