Jill has been practicing yoga for over forty years.
She is a member of The British Wheel of Yoga and a qualified BWY teacher.
She teaches holistically, using movement, breath and awareness to bring about benefits for the bodymind: the combined physical, psychological and spiritual aspects of the individual.
Jill is a qualified beauty, massage therapist and counsellor. She worked at Champneys Spa in Henlow, Bedfordshire for several years. Following that she trained and worked as a mental health nurse practitioner.
Jill is now a full time Yoga teacher. She has experience in teaching several styles of yoga but most enjoys teaching Hatha yoga flow.
She teaches yoga classes in the community and at various sports centres such as David Lloyd Health clubs. The practice is very versatile and can be adapted to suit all ages and abilities.
The practice of yoga asanas (postures) strengthens and tones muscles, develops flexibility, and can improve a variety of ailments. Psychologically yoga increases concentration, stills the mind and promotes wellbeing, tranquility and contentment.
With practice, the benefits of yoga are:
• The body becomes stronger and more flexible
• Stiffness and tensions are eased
• Breathing improves
• Energy increases
• Relaxation is easier
Yoga is about learning to come back to yourself. It’s about expanding your boundaries, finding your limits and being able to truly relax and be yourself.
It’s about taking time to remember who you are but have forgotten while being caught up in the whirlwind of a fast paced life.
