Restorative Yoga is a passive meditative practice of long-held, deep poses with close attention to the breath that open and energise the meridians (energy pathways). It restores youthful joint mobility as you quietly activate and gather internal chi (life force) balancing; physical, emotional and mental energy throughout the body. Restorative Yoga is a gentle, therapeutic and meditative practice of long-held supported poses with the use of props such as bolsters, blocks and blankets, and focusing on the breath, encouraging physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. As the name suggests, this style of yoga “restores” the body to its parasympathetic nervous system function (rest and digest) which, in turn, helps the body rest, heal, and restore balance.
