From 5.45pm to 7pm every Sunday, Ailsa will guide you through a Mandala Vinyasa Flow and Yoga Nidra sequence. The epitome of from yang to yin, each class will begin with a Mandala sequence, which involves moving around the yoga mat in all directions, and close with an extended relaxation of Yoga Nidra.
Flowing, smooth and constant movement synchronised with the breath as well as the creative, playful and flowing Mandala sequence combine to create an uplifting and energising style of class. Immerse yourself in this moving meditation to stretch and strengthen the body, calm the mind and reduce stress. Each class will explore one of the five elements from the yoga tradition. Each element is linked to a different area of the body, a different Chakra and a different aspect of your life.
The Vinyasa Flow portion is designed to clear the mind, release tension and create space for you to land back in your body, preparing you to enjoy the restful stillness of Yoga Nidra. The rejuvenating, restorative and grounding practice of Yoga Nidra comprises the final portion of the class. Yoga Nidra is a form of meditation practised lying down and guides you between sleep and wakefulness. This state is profoundly nourishing and restorative and helps you to guide your body into the rest and digest nervous system response.
Ailsa’s classes are for all levels and suitable for everyone from beginners to those more experienced at practising yoga. Ailsa gives a number of options in more challenging poses to accommodate all levels. Overall, Ailsa’s yoga classes are a deeply relaxing, meditative and physically rewarding experience.
