Restore. Deeply stretch. Relax.
In this class we combine Restorative and Yin yoga. Our intention is to slow down and open the body through active-static stretching. You may hardly move at all, doing just a few postures in the course of an hour.
Allowing yourself to cultivate an awareness of each posture. Being in the posture rather than performing it.
Props are used to support your body instead of your muscles, so they can relax deeply. Postures are maintained in a relaxed way for 3 to 10 minutes.
Holding the postures so deeply can calm the central nervous system, stimulate the flow of vital energy and teach you to relax at a deeper level.
The classes are a great complement to more dynamic Yang practices and an excellent antidote to stress. We end the class with relaxation and/or guided meditation.
