Sequences change every session, one week we may focus on releasing lower back tension and the next building core strength, we dip into the anatomical structures of postures so we can understand what is happening to the body and why it can be beneficial.
If you’re looking for a challenge there are plenty of options to do so, as well as a variety of modifications in postures to make them easier, more often than not, less it more. It’s down to you to find the place between too much and not enough, the teacher is there to guide you through the sequences and offer support if you have any questions.
The practice of yoga is of process rather than attainment, meaning there’s no medal at the end, through a disciplined practice the benefits contribute toward a healthy body free from aches and pains and a focused mindset with the ability to deal with the difficulties in our lives. The power in power yoga really comes from connecting with the things that are powerful in this world, gratitude, compassion, thankfulness and benevolence, there is plenty of evidence out there that suggests gratitude is contagious, the more kindness and understanding we show ourselves the more equipped we are to relate to others.
