Our Pilates Fundamentals Pilates classes provide a nurturing, supportive environment for pregnant women to embrace their journey from pregnancy right through to motherhood. It is also suitable for those who are post-natal or those women who have developed issues since having their babies. Partners are also welcome to attend.
We often hear our clients who have fallen pregnant expressing their confusion over what pelvic stability really and the differing ways pelvic exercises are taught. This class aims not only to teach you how to open and close your pelvic floor but also to strength, lengthen and move your entire body throughout your pregnancy to ensure it is ready to support you through the birth and also prevent problems arising once the baby arrives.
If you have Pelvic Pain (PGP) or any other health issues you can still attend and will be well looked after, just let the teacher know before class.
During class you will only work according to your own energy levels, and will be supported by our experienced teacher Nickola who is an experienced pregnancy Pilates teacher and a mum of two.
This class is suitable for all levels, including beginners and those who have previous Pilates experience.
When to Start Pregnancy Pilates?
For those new to Pilates please wait until week 13 of pregnancy, so that you have completed the more exhausting part of pregnancy before coming to class and have sign off from your midwife.
Those of you who attend Pilates regularly and wish to continue your practice now you’re pregnant you are welcome to attend this class and we would prefer that you attended this specialist class rather than your regular class where possible. After your first trimester you can combine the pregnancy class with a non-pregnancy class so long as it is with Nickola Evans or Nic Conroy.
