A fun cardio workout hitting tennis balls, whilst taking part in strengthening exercises.

Cardio tennis is a great new way of getting and staying fit that involves hitting balls, running and movement to music, rather than having to play tennis to a certain standard which means people of all abilities and ages can do it. It’s so much fun that you will soon forget you are also having a great workout!

Offering a cardiovascular workout starting with appropriate warm up followed by the main part involving a mixture of tennis drills and various exercises all designed to keep your heart rate in a training zone. Finishing with a cool down by playing some tennis games, followed by stretching.

Participants consistently elevate their heart rate and short cycles of high intensity workouts are combined with periods of rest, in a similar way to interval training. It’s a great way to burn calories and improve your fitness level!

People burn about 700 calories in a session but the effect then continues and you could then burn about 2000 calories throughout the rest of the day!
