What is Kundalini Yoga?
In Sanskrit, the word kundalini means “coiled snake.” In early Eastern religion, it was believed that divine energy was created at the base of the spine. Kundalini Yoga helps to “uncoil the snake” and connect us to this divine energy within by encouraging the energy at the base of the spine to flow upwards. Every meditation and kriya has a specific breath and posture to help generate or release specific energy.
On a physical level, kundalini yoga is fantastic for overall health, especially the nervous system, spinal health, immunity and core strength.
