What is Reiki? Reiki is a high vibrational energy that is transmitted through an attuned practitioner and into the energy field of the recipient. This loving energy can assist the body, mind and spirit with its own natural healing process. As Reiki is not limited to time or space, the session can take place either in - person or remotely. Reiki is just as effective delivered either way.
What should I expect during the session? The first 10 minutes will involve us chatting through the form you completed after booking your session (which will be sent to you via email). I will also check in with how you are feeling on the day, and see if there is anything you'd like to discuss before the treatment.
Once you are comfortably settled, I will begin the Reiki treatment. This part of the session will last approximately 40 minutes.
It is helpful for me to be able to see you throughout the session as I tend to work visually whilst working with Reiki, but this is by no means essential if you'd feel more relaxed with the camera off (I will ask you to switch it back on at the end to check in with you post reiki treatment).
If you have a desire to get up and move, stretch, visit the toilet or sip water during the session then please do and i will continue to hold space for you.
I tend to play gentle music throughout the session, but if you would rather it be silent just let me know.
What might I experience during the Reiki treatment? The experience of Reiki is subjective and changeable. Many report a sense of wellbeing, deep rest and rejuvenation. Heat, coolness, tingles and feelings of lightness are commonly felt too.
Whilst some experience dramatic effects, it's possible that sometimes very little or nothing at all is felt at the time. Rest assured there is no right or wrong way to experience Reiki and that it is always working for the highest good.
Some people find that they experience Reiki very differently online than in person, with some finding it more intense, and others finding it more subtle. For me personally, both online and in person feel very similar in terms of what is experienced.
Each session will likely feel different from the last. It's also worth noting that Reiki tends to have a cumulative effect, with experiences becoming progressively deeper over time.
What happens after the session? At the end of the session, I will let you know the Reiki treatment has come to an end, and give you some time to 'come round'. I often liken the feeling to waking up from a cosy nap, or coming out of a meditation.
You'll then have a chance to discuss anything that came up for you that you'd like to share (or jot down), and I can discuss with you my insights too if you would you like this.
Following a Reiki session it's recommended that you sip plenty of water throughout the day, and have a snack if you fancy it (this may not be the case if you're appointment is later in the evening - but be sure to drink plenty the following day).
If possible, it is greatly beneficial to have some reflection time following the session. This could involve writing, taking a walk or a bath for example. Whatever feels nourishing to you.
I will check in with you 24-48hrs after your session, however you can communicate with me via WhatsApp/text on 07739896723, or via email [email protected] if you have any questions in the meantime.
