Iyengar Yoga for beginners. Iyengar yoga is accessible to all; young and old, flexible and stiff! The Iyengar method uses props to help with alignment in the poses which means people of all flexibilities can come to the same class. Some students may be offered more props to help with alignment or for support in the pose.
I started Iyengar yoga over ten years ago, when I was diagnosed with CFS/ME. I was a keen runner at that time, but my illness meant that I struggled to get to the end of the road without pain and exhaustion. The way yoga created energy, rather than burnt it up was amazing and I fell in love with it after my first class!
I'm now fully recovered and completed my two year training course to Introductory Level 2.
