Joanna is now teaching on Thursday evenings at Redland. Classes are held in a small, intimate studio, holding 14 students. There are two classes to choose from:
Beginners Level 75min - suitable for complete beginners, or for anyone in need of a gentler class or who is a little rusty!
General Level 90 mins - suitable for those with some experience. Also suitable for beginners as all poses can be adapted with the use of props.
The studio is fully equiped so you don't need to bring anything. Iyengar Yoga is accessible to everyone, regardless of age, flexibility or fitness level. Occasionally we use props to help with alignment and to enable students to get the maximum benefit from the poses. My classes are both energising and restorative, resulting in you feeling lighter and calmer as you walk out the door.
There is free street parking after 5pm. On major bus routes, just off Whiteladies Road.
I have been practising yoga for over 17 years. For many years I suffered with lower back pain and yoga was the vehicle that enabled me to completely heal myself. After experiencing the flexibility, vitality and calm that yoga brought to my daily life, I was inspired to train as a teacher. I studied with the Iyengar Yoga Association for 2 years and am now a Certified IY teacher. I have continued to study to deepen my knowledge and understanding. I am passionate about the benefits that yoga offers and I look forward to introducing you to yoga or helping you continue on your yoga journey.
