This is a group Pilates Matwork class, where the STOTT PILATES repertoire is taught on an ongoing basis. Some Pilates experience is useful but not necessary. Modifications are giving to those joining at different times and those attending each week will be progressed through to the intermediate exercises over the months. Some mats are provided on a first come, first serve basis and some small equipment that is used for alignment. Otherwise just bring yourself, some water and some comfortable exercise clothing :)The benefits of Pilates are endless, from improving posture, increasing flexibility, strengthening your core, balancing muscles, lowering back pain, preventing injury and helping relaxation and focus. Pilates can be beneficial to anyone, any age and can help achieve a wide range of health and fitness goals. The basic principles include breathing through the nose and exhaling through the mouth, working on placing the pelvis through a neutral and stable position, stabilising the shoulder blades, cervical spine and ribcage.
