Handball is a team sport played by two teams of seven players (six outfield and a goalkeeper) where players pass the ball using their hands with the aim of scoring goals by throwing the ball into the goal of the other team. Handball is an indoor sport, played on a similar size court to a hockey or futsal court. Games consist of two 30 minute halves. Handball is a fast paced game where a lot of goals can be scored, often spectacularly, however it’s not a difficult game for a new player to pick up the basics. Handball is very popular across Europe and is becoming more and more popular across the UK with the profile of the game raised after the London 2012 Olympics.
