Pregnancy Yoga classes provide a nurturing environment for pregnant women to share and embrace their journey through pregnancy and early motherhood.
During pregnancy you may notice rapid changes within your body which can leave you in discomfort, increased lower back pain and restricted breath can cause sleepless nights and stress. Use Yoga to improve pelvic floor, core and other muscle groups which will help you when it matters the most on the day.
Yoga prevents and remedies common problems such as backache and restricted breath. Pregnancy Yoga is a safe way to continue to exercise and maintain good fitness during your pregnancy. The practices allow the body to open gently, to release physical tension and to work through emotional fears in preparation for birth. Our aim is to ensure the labour is as comfortable as it can be so we provide specific relaxation techniques designed to help open the body.
Through Pregnancy Yoga, you will become more in tune with your own body and breath, and learn how to use these skills towards a positive & empowering birth experience.
During class you will only work according to your own energy levels, and will be supported by our experienced teachers.
For new Yogis, we’d love to see you at Pregnancy Yoga classes after week 14 of pregnancy, once you have overcome the more tiring part of the first trimester.
For regular Yogis, if you just can’t wait, then Pregnancy Yoga is the best class to come to during your first trimester.
After 14 weeks, you can combine Pregnancy Yoga class with non-Pregnancy Yoga classes with the teachers listed below, but ensure you tell the instructor you are pregnant at the start of the class so they can adapt the postures specifically for you.
Teachers qualified to teach Pregnant students who have an existing Yoga practice:
Laura Gilmore – Hatha/Hatha Flow classes only
Charlie Musgrove – Hatha/Hatha Flow classes only
Please only attend non-Pregnancy Yoga classes after 14 weeks, and if you had an established Yoga practice before you became pregnant.
If you are unsure which class to attend please contact us.
We offer your first 2 classes for £15, and if you enjoy the classes you can buy any of our class passes or memberships, or drop-in on the day.
There is more information on Pregnancy Yoga on our website.
Please try to arrive 10mins before the class start time. However, we understand how difficult it can be to move quickly in pre and post natal stages so we allow students in after the start time for pregnancy yoga.
