Hatha Yoga classes will help the body to strengthen and to release tension, to stabilize and calm the mind and to work deeply but not fast. There is more emphasis on holding a pose for longer, combining gentle postures, breath work, mindfulness and meditation to encourage release and relaxation in the mind and body. Those with injuries can be supported in these classes.
If you’ve never tried yoga before, have done a couple of classes, or have done the odd downward facing dog then these are the classes for you. If you’ve done some classes before, but haven’t been on a mat in years these classes will also be perfect.
If you practice other styles of Yoga but have never practiced Ashtanga Yoga before, then these classes will be a great introduction.
