Malcolm X Community Centre, City Road, Saint Paul's, Bristol, United Kingdom
Capoeira is a Afro-Brazilian martial art. It has roots in warriors dances brought to Brazil by African slaves, but it has also been shaped into the form it is known by today by various populations of the ethnic melting pot that is Brazil.
Capoeira is the perfect exercise, combining strength training, flexibility training & aerobic exercise.
However it is also much more, much richer. Capoeira is ritualistic - like a dance. It's a fight. It's a game. It is history. Music. Community. Capoeira is a way of life.
For those new to capoeira and curious, we welcome you to join our classes and find out more about capoeira for yourself. We all look forward to seeing you. Axe!
The class is located at Malcolm X Community Centre, 141 City Rd, BS2 8YH
Lesson cost £5 and are paid in class. University of Bristol Students that are members of the society get a 20% discount and pay only £4 per lesson.
All our classes are mixed ability, and suitable for everyone, but our 6:30 Tuesday classes are specifically aimed at students new to capoeira.
