In Mark's classes we practice asana, yoga nidra, pranayama and a little meditation. His style seeks the traditional goals of yoga – a means of stabilising the self to be able to deepen our awareness. This also means the body is aligned with itself, becoming supple, strong and clean, as well as with our higher self, helping us walk our path with more surety and connection.
Mark’s journey with yoga began as a teenager in the 90’s intuitively practicing asana as a way to help cultivate higher levels of consciousness. He was first introduced to yoga teachers in 2002 and began daily practice in hatha yoga for years as well as kundalini yoga for two years.
With a building urge to go to India Mark travelled extensively in 2005 and 2006 and studied with many sadhu’s, swami’s and doctors. Since then he has taught yoga including pranayama, nidra and meditation. His practice has developed over the years with the help of the sivananda, shivite, vaishnav and tantra traditions.
Mark’s passion for yoga and ancient Indian culture led him to become an Ayurvedic Practitioner in 2011 helping people find balance and health through diet, herbs and lifestyle. This enriches his yoga instruction which is tailored to people’s constitution as well as seasonal influence. Mark teaches one-on-one as well as group classes in Bristol.
