Creative. Strengthening. Playful. About the class: Mats and props available. Bring yourself as you are!
We will start with a brief check-in to connect to each other in the space before drawing inwards, becoming aware of our natural breath, the quality of our heart and our state in the present moment, welcoming the full spectrum of our beings. Coming to find an intention, a desire of something we wish to cultivate more of in our lives, you’ll be invited to chant, or simply receive the sound, in order to commit this intention to yourself and the world around you. We’ll move into a short movement medicine practice, waking up and bringing awareness to different parts of the body. This will be followed by a detailed asana yoga practice, to build strength in the body, allowing you to fully release into meditation/deep rest at the end of the class. We’ll then close with song.
About the teacher: Aniya found yoga at university, after a period of intense stress and overwhelm. She quickly became entranced by the thrill of acroyoga and only returned to yoga when discovering the philosophy, becoming curious about the depth and transformation that it has to offer. She never imagined becoming a yoga teacher but embarked on her teacher-training as a journey of personal-development, only to find it enhancing her offerings as a music teacher and unexpectedly finding great joy in teaching yoga. Aniya is a singer-songwriter and offers Ayurvedic yoga massage, sharing both her voice, songs and hands on in classes.
