My teaching style is presented in a way that allows beginners, or those wishing to adopt a less challenging practice, the opportunity to explore the basic application of asana and how to connect it with the breath. Once this foundation is in place, your journey begins to unfold as your connection with yourself deepens. Experienced practitioners then develop an active and challenging practice that is constantly evolving.
Yoga offers liberation, which can only be achieved if our practice is not forced upon the body. By adopting a non-violent approach (ahimsa), the body softens to create conditions for changing movement patterns.
I offer a strong, athletic class to more experienced practitioners. Yet this is only achievable once we learn to let go of the physical desire to push beyond the body’s natural limits. Your practice must be approached with compassion and patience in order to re-discover freedom of movement and ultimately freedom of spirit!
My regular classes are currently based in the beautifully renovated studio space that is part of the King Alfred complex.
The entire centre has undergone extensive renovation over the past 3 years. Our modern studio offers a uniquely clean, bright spacious practice place.
The Studio is heated to approx 28°C (82°F). Mats and water are available should you need and the centre provides shower facilities. There is a pay and display car park next to the centre.
