LIVE STREAMWeblink will be sent to youRevitalise Brighton & HoveA mindful mat based Pilates class, bringing in aspects of meditation and somatic release designed to relieve chronic pain and gently build physical stability in the shoulders, core, hips and pelvis to support the spine. We’ll begin by gently connecting to the body through breathwork and visualisation, and then move through some slow somatic exercises releasing habitual tension in the muscles and becoming completely present in the body. This down-regulates the nervous system to reduce pain and build stronger connection between brain and body before we start adding in stronger movement. I’ll introduce the Pilates basic principles, then move through some stronger Pilates exercises designed to bring support and mobility to the spine. We'll finish with a mindful stretch and closing relaxation to give time for the body to integrate everything it's done over the hour in class. Please make sure you have full clearance from your doctor to begin exercise after an injury and make sure to let Síofra know of any modifications you may need.
