Park Road, Rottingdean, East Sussex, BN2 7HL, United Kingdom
This is a very well-maintained village hall, with stage (so you can easily see what I am doing) and a sprung floor (to put a bounce into your step and protect your joints).
It's a well-attended class, with a friendly / welcoming atmosphere and sense of community among the participants. As it is a large hall, there is plenty of room for you to throw your shapes. The age range is from 20-somethings - right up to enthusiastic 70-somethings - and everything in between.
I always, without fail, offer a safe and effective warm up and cool down / stretch. We do all the Latino rhythms - salsa, cumbia, samba, lambada, merengue, reggaeton, Latin dance, etc. In addition, there's plenty of other fun music too - flamenco, bhangra, charleston, pop, passadoble, hip-hop, soca, cha cha cha, belly dance... My playlist is enormous and I rotate the choice every week. I add new routines on a regular basis to keep the sessions fresh and interesting.
Sometimes we do some Zumba Toning (with the Zumba maraca-style toning sticks). I have jingly hip scarves for everyone for the belly dance routines, and fans for the flamenco routines. It's always varied and fun.
In my sessions, the emphasis is on dance with a fitness angle (although you absolutely do NOT have to be a great dancer). All ages and fitness / dance abilities are welcome and catered for.
Buses from Eastbourne direction stop outside The White Horse Hotel. Buses from the Brighton direction stop outside Tesco. Walk through the alleyway on the righthand side of Tesco, to the village hall on your left. Free parking in Park Road. Free parking in Tesco car park after 6pm. I provide bottled water free of charge.
