The Dyke golf course was created in 1906 and is perched at 650 feet, high on the Sussex Downs, now part of the South Downs National Park. Overlooking Brighton, there are spectacular views out across the English Channel towards the Isle of Wight, with the rolling hills of the South Downs stretching for many miles.

Originally constructed by the club professional in consultation with the leading course designer of the time James Braid, the current layout was rebuilt after the war since the land was used as a wartime tank training ground. The ‘new’ course, designed by Fred Hawtree, is much longer than the pre-war version and is a first class test of golf, measuring 6,625 yards off the white tees and 5,515 yards off the red tees, par 72.
