Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Mysore style, follows a set sequence of postures joined together through the synchronisation of movement and breath, helping students to become stronger and more flexible, while simultaneously calming the mind. Students learn do their own practice at their own pace, receiving personalised instructions and adjustments from the teacher. Absolute beginners will receive dedicated instruction only available in specific classes until they feel confident. Beginners can expect to do about half an hour to start with and then build up to a longer class when they have learnt some of the sequence and are ready to do more postures. Any student who has already practised this style of Yoga is welcome in all the Mysore classes.
